Crafting the Perfect Gift: Cookies and Snap Sacks for the Holidays

Hailey and I met at a market, and I instantly fell in love with her beautifully crafted sugar cookies. We were regular customers to each other’s businesses and finally decided to bring our works together in December of 2023. As we thought about what we wanted to bring together we decided a fun grab and go cookie gift would be perfect. I found a fun Christmas cookie fabric and had it printed for Snap Sacks and Hailey used the fabric to create cookies that coordinated perfectly. We paired five of her mini sugar cookies with a Snap Sack for a fun gift people could purchase for teachers, friends, neighbors or bring as a hostess gift for the many fun events we attend during the holidays. Again bringing two very different small businesses together to provide an item our community would be proud gift or receive.

Sewing Joy into Every Stitch: Our Teacher Gift Collaboration with Heart Prints

In 2023 I became good friends with Misty of Heart Prints by Misty. She is a surface pattern designer and turns her artwork into many items like fabric, kitchen accessories and journals.

As we are both parents of school aged children, we thought it would be fun to put together a meaningful and useful end of the year teacher gift. We took Misty’s artfully created designs and printed them onto Linen Cotton Canvas. I then sewed up Snap Sacks, from my reusable bag line, that we then filled with a mini journal, also with Misty’s artwork, a mini pen and our local Nothing Bundt Cakes also provided mini Bundlet vouchers.

This little gift brought so much joy to teachers all over our community. Misty and I continue to work together on other projects and you can find her artwork in several of the items in my shop, like the inside liner to the Buckle Bag, and for the Snap and Zip Sacks.

Snack & Pack: The Creative Collaboration Behind Fiber Kids' Snap Sacks

I was introduced to Addie of Fiber Kids in the summer of 2021 and we instantly hit it off as we both owned small businesses. Our business was very different, but we had a similar client base and we wanted to find a way to collaborate. Addie is a pediatric nurse and through her profession realized there was a serious need for more fiber in children’s diets, so she began making fiber bars and muffins to help fill this need. To go along with her muffins and bars, we decided to do branded Snap Sacks, so busy parents had the perfect place to store their fiber snacks for on the go! We also put together branded aprons, so when her own children attended events with her they could wear them. I was able to find fabric that was on brand for Addie and match her brand colors to the products we were creating together. I also used hand embroidery to add her logo to the child aprons. This whole collaboration was so fun to work on, and really showed that although our business was very different there were so many similarities that made this a great thing for both of us.

Unfortunately, Addie had to close Fiber Kids in 2022.

Crafting Coziness: A Journey with Pine and Feather's Haunted Highlands

When embarking on my latest creation, I'm always on the hunt for exquisite, unique art pieces that can be transformed into fabric for my designs. Last fall, a friend introduced me to Stacie of Pine and Feather, and I was immediately captivated by her Haunted Highlands collection.

I had long envisioned the perfect pullover - one that epitomizes comfort, style, and functionality. This vision came to life with a pullover that not only features a cozy cowl neckline to keep your little one snug as the autumn air turns crisp but also boasts extendable cuffed sleeves, ensuring the garment grows with them over several seasons. Utilizing the Haunted Highlands fabric collection, I crafted slouch beanies that perfectly complement the pullover, rounding off a chic, cozy ensemble for those chilly fall days.

Collaborating with Stacie was an absolute delight; her meticulous attention to detail in her artwork made the process of converting art into a repeating pattern for custom fabric design a seamless experience. It's crucial to ensure the scale of the images aligns with your project, and Stacie was always on hand to guide me through this, answering questions and aiding in the fabric ordering process.

You can delve into more details about our collaboration and explore the unique pullover designs and children's apparel featuring Haunted Highlands Fabrics at Three + Me Creations — a testament to our shared passion for creating beautiful clothing and accessories through artist collaborations.

As a sewist based in Columbus, OH, my quest continues for artists eager to join forces in crafting beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. Our collaboration is more than just creating; it's about bringing visions to life, one fabric at a time.
